I am fascinated by tiny objects. In this "Texture and Color" project, I photographed objects in my daily life. Photography allows us to see things that would be hard for our eyes to see otherwise.
All of my subjects have unique texture and color, and I want to showcase that there is a beauty in every aspect of our daily life regardless of whenever or whatever we may be in.
As you scroll down the page, please pay attention to the gradual change of the colors from one picture to another.
I love film photography, and I love the world of black and white. As much as I love beautiful colors, I am also very fascinated by the colorless or grayscale world.
Unlike digital photography, film photography takes so much of my time and work because I not only need to take the pictures, but I also need to develop the negatives and then make prints from the negatives in the darkroom. It takes a tremendous amount of time to create one work from the beginning to the end. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons why I love film photography so much.
I have developed many rolls and sheets of films on my own, including 35mm, medium format, and large format.
Implementing Zone System in my photography has helped me to learn how to pre-visualize world, and these experiences have given me the discipline to actually see the world and then how to express it the way I want.
We all eat to live, but I believe there is much more to food than eating it. Food can bring people together, and having a nice meal with your loved ones can always become such a strong, lasting memory.
My passion for food has been always strong. Since I was young, I loved baking and cooking as a hobby. But I wanted to take my skills to a new levels, so I studied the art of cooking and baking at culinary school for nearly 10 years in Japan. There I gained extensive knowledge about how to handle and cook food, nutrients, how to bake, how to make bread, and much more. Because of that education, I have licenses to be able to teach how to cook, bake, and make bread. I also have a license to be able to sell these products.
I believe that understanding your subjects is one of the most important aspects of photography. Having a strong culinary training experience in my background is an asset for my food photography. My knowledge of food and cooking helps me to create images in a way that I find most attractive and interesting.
All of the cooked and baked food here are something I cooked myself. Even though food photography takes so much time, especially when you are making the subjects on your own, it is something I truly enjoy doing.
In addition to these photos, since the beginning of the pandemic, I have started a food art photography project on Instagram where I’m posting food art photos.

- Claude Monet
And so is mine.
